Women’s Club supports Talbot Goes Purple

The Talbot County Women’s Club was proud to show support for Talbot Goes Purple during a recent sporting event at St. Michaels High School in September.

Board members of the Talbot County Women’s Club assisted the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office to help spread the message standing up to opioid abuse.

“The focus of our mission is to help those in need in Talbot County,” says Nancy Lutes, current president of the Club. “We will do our part to bring awareness to the Talbot Goes Purple initiative. Anyone struggling with such a problem needs to know they have the support of the community.”

Talbot Goes Purple is an awareness campaign by the Tidewater Rotary and Talbot County Sheriff’s Office on the dangers of opioid abuse. During the month of September, all of Talbot County lights up in purple to show community support for the initiative while the two groups host several lectures and awareness rallies.
